sig 229 dak

Sig 229 Dak - An option offered to discerning Sig Sauer pistol owners over the past few years has been the ubiquitous Kellerman Double Action or DAK system. In fact, many people do not know what it is, why it is and what it does. With that said, let's take a look at good old DAK and see what questions we can answer.

Around 2004, SIG perfected the trigger, which was designed by Harald Kellermann of Eckernförde, Germany, home of JP Sauer, the Teutonic house of the Swiss company. This trigger system, in simple terms, is similar to the double-action revolver system, but with some changes. When you pull it, the company's specs say you get a consistent 6.5-pound trigger pull with two reset points, one short and one full-length. This allows the sniper to be used to pull the same trigger every time, as with a striker-fired pistol like Glock or XD, without sacrificing the advantage of the pistol trigger.
