Sig 226 Price - I have had the highest regard for SIG Sauer products for over 40 years. Sometimes it's hard to pinpoint a favorite gun from any one maker. In this case, the difficulty is slim because the SIG P226 SAO Legion is easily my favorite SIG product.
The SIG P226 is an amazing pistol. With the recent addition of Legion, it's even better. SAO Launcher also has a lot of appeal. The P226R is one of the few Legion series pistols I own. Each has its own character and more than a little flair.

The P226 is built on the P226R Railgun chassis. The Legion series isn't cheap, but it is affordable. A bit of sacrifice and shifting of assets, but working people can afford this pistol.

Although terms such as factory, custom, and high-end factory rifle may be used, the revolver is a high-end gun by any standard.
The P226 has a lot of history behind it. The pistol has withstood rigorous institutional scrutiny. The famous Ohio State testing, joint French military and police tests, and Texas Patrol evaluations confirmed the reliability of the SIG P series pistols.
Modern pistols are much more reliable. There has never been a more effective and efficient handgun in the war on terror than the SIG P226. Originally intended to provide life-saving accuracy in a rescue situation, the pistol balances accuracy with reliability. When a SIG is bought, it is bought on its merits, not the lowest bid.
The Legion series owes much to the demands of serious competitors and military shooters. The gun that saves lives and makes history, he said, could be made a little better. "Let's do it," replied SIG, and the Legion series was the result.
Which One Is Better: Glock 17 Vs. Sig P226?
It is designed for those who demand a handgun with enhanced features to increase handling speed and accuracy. Reliability—a strong point of the P226—cannot be compromised. The pistol has been greatly improved in the frame of the handle.
The geometry is subtly modified by a cutout under the trigger guard. Tang's fist clenched slightly. Frame checking is great. A feature commonly found on custom pistols is a check under the trigger guard. I like it very much. This little thing pays off in instant photography. Grip is unique to the Legion series.
Inside the gun, the trigger mechanism is the only action. It is important to understand that the pistol is not a double action first shot modified P226. Locking is highly advanced, and the Legion's trigger is a flat style that provides excellent control.
The trigger is tight and crisp with minimal take-up and quick reset. The gun features a solid, rather than hollow, guide rail.

Call the SIG X-RAY3 sights. I love the composition. You want something bright that grabs the attention of visitors. These locations are suitable for defensive shooting. Night scenes are bright enough to use in low light.

Another advantage is that the shooter is sometimes tempted to ride the SIG P226 slide while shooting. This results in the slide lock failing to engage and locking the slide on the last round. With subtle design differences with the SAO variant, this doesn't happen.
The pistol was fired with a good mix of modern 9mm ammunition. The primary training load was the Federal American Eagle 9mm. This is a neat download with lots of recommendations. Operational accuracy is excellent.

It also fired a variety of defensive loads, including the Federal 124-grain HST and the 124-grain HydraShock. The pistol is very accurate with all bullet weights, from 115 to 147 grains. I have a low supply of HST +P loads. These were also reliable and accurate in the SIG P226 Legion. I chose the Pistol Test Bench for absolute accuracy.
Using MTM's K-Zone die-cast revolver, I carefully fired several groups with American Eagle and Federal 124-grain HST loads. The results were spectacular. The average spread for the four groups, each with five shots, was a narrow 2.25 inches. Some groups were smaller. The gun will work!
When ordering a holster, be sure to specify P226R for the P226 with a light rail. The P226R is not a small pistol, but it is not too heavy for effective concealment if the right holster is in place. With its high-riding holster, the SIG P226 Legion conceals well under light cover clothing.
This is my favorite all-around SIG and one that I will be shooting more of in the near future.

The concept for the E2 pistol was simple enough: take an established line of successful pistols and make them shootable by as many people as possible. But with any precision machine, the details make all the difference.
SIG SAUER's hugely popular line of P226 pistols is large. The pistol is designed as a full-size combat handgun for the military and law enforcement forces of the world. The catalyst for the project was pistol testing for the United States Army that wanted to replace the M1911-A1 pistol of the 1980s.
However, the frame size of the P226 was a problem for many shooters with small or medium hands. The size of the grip will affect where the finger rests on the trigger. For someone with "short finger syndrome", the original revolver was just too large a frame to properly place a finger on the trigger.

A cursory glance at the revolver reveals nothing revolutionary. The back of the gun looks a bit different, but the gun is very similar to previous incarnations of the P226 E2. So let's look at some of the differences so you don't miss anything.
