Can you imagine loading a grader on or off a flatbed trailer using a docking station? Most graders won't fit on a flatbed trailer anyway, so that's not a problem. Since the best way to load or unload a grader is to drive it, step trailers and RGN trailers are the best choice for transporting a construction grader.
Step trailers are usually a bit cheaper than RGN trailers, but availability can be an issue. Sometimes it's worth paying a bit more for a ready-to-run RGN trailer instead of waiting for a step trailer to appear. In any case, the two best options for sending evaluators are:
Small trailers can also be used to transport graders - if you have a crane for loading and unloading. In most cases, heavy equipment must be lifted in a low trailer. It is much more difficult (and often impossible) to drive long equipment on or off a small trailer than it is to load or unload an RGN trailer or step trailer.

The Heavy Advanced Mobility Transport Truck is an 8x8 diesel off-road tactical truck used by the US Army. Dubbed the Dragon Wagon, the HEMTT first entered service with the Army in 1985, replacing the M520 Goer trucks. More than 13,000 HEMTTs are in operation today.
The main mission of HEMTT is to offer a heavy transport capability for the procurement of combat vehicles and weapon systems. Its enormous payload and off-road capabilities make it a major player in logistics.
Introduced in 1985, the HEMTT is the backbone of the US Army's logistics fleet. After 1991 the performance of the vehicle started to deteriorate. In 2001, Oshkosh and the US Army developed the HEMTT capital recovery program. The program provided new and refurbished vehicles to a number of high priority units. Until 2003, about 621 trucks were recapitalized.
December 2002. The US Army and Oshkosh developed the R3 (recap, repair and return) program to increase HEMTT turnover.

The program reduced turnaround time to 100 days, including shipping time, and was a huge success. After the R3 program, the vehicle received the designation R1 in the model numbers.
In 2005, the Oshkosh Corporation began development of a new generation HEMTT A3 vehicle after receiving a grant from the US Department of Defense. The vehicles are subjected to performance and durability tests over the next 18 months.
In 2008 February. The US Army awarded the first HEMTT A2 modification contract. In the second modification contract, the names of the HEMTT A2 vehicles were renamed to HEMTT A4.
Oshkosh has a total of 11 HEMTT variants in six configurations. It has five cargo trucks, a fuel truck variant, two tractor variants, a cargo handling system variant, a general bridge transporter variant and a rescue vehicle with cranes and winches.

Common features of the variants include front and rear towing eyes, dimmed lights, 24-volt electrical systems and rear towing hooks for trailers and artillery.
Cargo variants, models M977 A2 and M985 A2, are used to transport equipment, mainly ammunition. The rear sections of the vehicle are equipped with cranes 33.4 feet long, 8 feet wide and 9.3 feet high.
The Large Repair Parts Transporter (LRPT) variant of the M977 A2 is used to transport large repair parts. It is equipped with a crane that points to the rear of the chassis, which weighs 2,500 pounds.
The M978 variant is a bulk liquid carrier with a 2500 gal tank and a fueling module. It is used to charge tracked vehicles, wheeled vehicles and helicopters.

The Light Equipment Transporter (LET) variant of the M983 A2 is used to transport light equipment and ammunition. The M983 A2 Patriot Tractor variant is used to transport Pershing II and Patriot missile systems mounted on trailers. It has the same characteristics as the M983 A2 LET variant.
The M984 A2 (Wrecker) salvage truck variant is a 10t tactical wrecker truck with a heavy-duty crane and recovery winch. It can restore disabled vehicles in the field in two to three minutes. It is 32.6 feet long and has a 16-foot wheelbase.
The guided missile transporter (GMT) variant of the M985 A2 is used to transport guided missiles. It is 35.5 feet long and is equipped with a crane with a lifting capacity of 5,400 pounds at a height of 16.5 feet.
The load handling system variant of the M1120 A2 (LHS) is equipped with the Oshkosh Multilift lifting system, which can lift and transport up to 11t of payload. It is 32.7 feet long.
